The government plans to resettle the Temuans of Kampung Temir and the Chewong of Ulu Teris in Pahang, supposedly because their villages will be inundated by the proposed Kelau Dam.
The government also maintains that the Temuans and Chewong have agreed to the resettlement after they were consulted.
Is this really so?

The Government decides for the Chewong.
Audio recording of the technical meeting discussion on the resettlement of the Chewong for the Kelau dam. COAC objects to the Chewong being asked to move to Lurah Bilut together with the Temuans of Kampung Temir. JHEOA says that they are included because it is the best package for them, and they consulted the Chewong and that they have all agreed to the resettlement. COAC insists the Chewong have not been consulted nor have they agreed to the resettlement. The Chairman says he is inclined to accept the JHEOA's word and suggests that other parties could have influenced the Chewong to say otherwise. But he also says he would need to make a visit and find out the truth himself.

What the Chewong have to say for themselves.
COAC makes another visit to the Chewong community and finds out that no officer from JHEOA or other authority had visited the community since the last meeting - or even before it. The Chewong also say they are not aware of the resettlement plans for them. And ALL do not agree to be resettled.

The position of the batin of the Temuans.
Recent interview with Batin Chan of Kampung Temir. Here he once again maintains his consistent position since the year 2000 - that he has been pressured or forced (paksa) to accept the resettlement. If given a choice, he (and many others in his community) do not want to be resettled.
